Dr Jagannath Patil
Dr Jagannath Patil is currently Deputy Adviser of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is An Autonomous Institution of the University Grants Commission of India.
He is convener member of several committees of NAAC and contact person/nodal officer for affairs of NAAC pertaining to Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) and International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
A university toper in postgraduate degree in Mass Communication, he was a recipient of fellowship for doctoral research. Having worked as Lecturer, Assistant Registrar, In-charge Deputy Registrar of Shivaji University and Assistant Adviser at NAAC, he has rich experience in teaching, research and academic administration. He was editing University News Letters for more than 6 years and associated with NAAC News for about 2 years. He has also worked as a journalist with the Indian Express and Lokmat.
As Assistant Adviser of NAAC he has coordinated Peer Team Visits to more than 200 Higher Educational Institutions in more than 20 states in the last two years. He is also associated with the organisation of a large number of activities of NAAC, including workshops, assessors training programmes, member coordinators orientation programmes and heading Director Secretariat since 2004. He continues his academic interest in Mass Communication as visiting lecturer to Shivaji University & Bangalore University and associated with BOS and other academic bodies of many higher educational institutions. He has several publications to his credit. He is actively engaged in research and other activities pertaining to Student Participation in Quality Improvement on Behalf of NAAC.
He has visited New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Afica, Thiland and China on academic assignments. He is currenly leading APQN project group on Student Participation in Quality Assurance.
A son of a brave soldier who sacrificed his life in the war, Dr JP is engaged in the welfare of war widows and families through the society Shaheed. His contribution has been recognized by various felicitations and awards; most recently, Mayboli Bhushan sanman, by an NGO in Maharashtra.
