Message from the Secretariat
Welcome to the website of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN), and hope you find it useful. APQN aims to enhance the quality of higher education in Asia and the Pacific region through building the capacity of quality assurance agencies and extending the cooperation between them. We do this by promoting good practice, facilitating research, providing advice, information and expertise, developing links between QA agencies, assisting members to determine the standards of cross-border institutions, and the international recognition of qualifications, enhancing the mobility of students between institutions and member nations through credit transfer schemes, and enabling members to recognize dubious accrediting practices and organizations.
To achieve our aim, we have to prepare and disseminate information, particularly through our well maintained website. The website and its services are considered to be the backbone of our capacity building efforts. It provides all the information about APQN’s main activities, such as conferences and workshops, project groups, a repository of reviewers and consultants and the moderated online discussion forums.
APQN’s daily administration, including the maintenance of the website is conducted by the Secretariat. If you either would like to join the Network or believe you can help the Network, we would be delighted to hear from you. If you have any ideas how we can improve the website we would appreciate receiving your feedback. This should be sent to the APQN Administrator.
In closing, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dorte Kristoffersen, the former Secretary/Treasurer, and Liesha Northover, the former Administrator for their great and wonderful contributions to APQN. I also would like to say thanks to Australia Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) to host the Secretariat for the last five years. For the next two years, the Secretariat hosted by Shanghai Education Evaluation Institute (SEEI) will commit to be more efficient and economic in the service for members with the leadership of the Board and with your contribution.
Dr. Jiang Yanqiao
Secretary/Treasurer (APQN), Executive Vice President of Shanghai Education Evaluation Institute (SEEI)
