Dr Jiang Yanqiao is currently Executive President of Shanghai Educational Evaluation Institute (SEEI).

With a Ph.D. in higher Education, Dr. Jiang used to be the Dean of Studies of Shanghai Maritime University for 6 years. A considerable part of Dr. Jiang’s career has been devoted to international education. In August 2000, he was pointed as the Director of International Exchange and Cooperation, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. His major challenges are: promotion of exchange between governments (mainly at the province or municipal level from different countries), student exchange, management of international schools, cross-border education. Dr. Jiang joined the Shanghai Educational Evaluation Institute September 2006.

Dr. Jiang takes an active interest in the education quality assurance. While working in the university, he took an important part in establishing the quality assurance system for the University. This was the first system accredited by an international accreditation authority in Chinese universities. He has served as a member of the International School Accreditation Board which directed by the Ministry of Education, P.R. China. In 2002, he was the chair of the project to draft the “Implementation for the National Regulation for Chinese-foreign Cooperatively-run Schools”, which come into force in 2004. Dr. Jiang joined the trial accreditation overtaken for a cross-border higher education institution in Shanghai 2006. He also has several publications on education quality assurance.

As can be seen, because of his rich experience in university education management and in the government, the joint of Dr. Jiang to the Board of APQN will surely promote the quality assurance in the Asia-Pacific region and relationship with Shanghai, or even with China.
